You can join in any phase. The Schwaben and Ideenreich competitions run alongside phase 1; from phase 2 all southern Bavarian teams compete in the Munich competition.

Usual timing: The 2027 season starts in mid-October 2026 and pre-registration is open, but the 2027 submission deadlines are not yet published. The events calendar lists the 2027 Munich award evenings on 11 March (phase 1), 1 June (phase 2) and 28 July (final phase).

Who can apply

  • Company seat, or the residence of a founding team member, in Bavaria; teams are assigned to the Munich, Nordbayern, Schwaben or Ideenreich competition by postcode
  • No formal company founding is needed to take part
  • Submissions must keep to the page limits and rules of each phase
  • Nominated teams must pitch in person to the jury and attend the award event
  • Stage: idea, pre-seed
